The only people seemed to be confused that Corel has their own Linux distribution are the idiot press who can't figure it out.

Well, that would probably include most of the customers who bought it based on the Corel label plastered all over their product with no mention of Debian. Corel couldn't "choose" Red Hat or Caldera (both of those will crush any effort by Corel, as will Turbolinux). What Corel did was take Debian, strip it down to nothing, slap it on a CD, plaster Corel all over the box and then dump it into the channel to beef up revenues for the next quarter. As always, the investors will pay for the returned product down the road.
