Neocon, baby, relativists believe that beliefs of different sects are equally valid for each sect. and totally invalid as a whole. Nazis believed on their immortal souls that they as Nazis were right. They were willing to kill 6 billion on the bet that they were right and otherwise roast in hell. Soviet communists believed that they were correct in boosting the proletariat. They were willing to bet their immortal souls (many of them are Russian Orthodox or Muslim or Jewish once again) that killing 18 billion was okay) or otherwise roast in hell.
I am a relativist. I believe that Nazis, SovComs, Jews, Christians, Episcopalians, Chicoms, Quakers, Catholics, Jains, Shivaists, Agnostics, Kantians, Anabaptists, Ghost Dances, Buddhists, Christian Scientists, Mormons, Jesuits, Baratarians, Mithraists, Utraquists, Zoroastrians, Scots Nationalists, Jesuists, Jesusians, Docetists, Monophysites, Heretics, etc. and even you are equally full of shit about morality and values. None of their values are universal, even where all the sects intersect. I am perfectly willing to let Nazis murder Nazis, Communists murder communists, Governors hang Governors, Dominicans burn Dominicans, but when anyone steps across the sectarian limes and injures someone of another belief (which I believe is equally invalid) I intend to shoot the one who first steps across the line. I am ready to shoot Jews or Romans to protect Jesus if I get a chance. I'll shoot Englishmen to protect Joan. I'll shoot Catholics to protect bishops Cranmer, Ridley, or Latimer. I'll shoot Nazis to protect Bonhoeffer or Anne Frank. I'll shoot Roosevelt to protect the Japanese from internment. I'll shoot South Carolina whites to free Denmark Vesey. I'll shoot American soldiers to protect the Vietnamese in My Lai. I'll shoot Bush to prevent him executing another hundred murderers in Texas. I'll shoot the FBI to protect children in Waco. I'll shoot Serbs to protect Kosovars, and Kosovars to protect Serbs returning to their homes. I am a perfect Peacekeeper. I am willing and ready to shoot anyone who steps over the line.
I am a relativist, but I am relatively tired now after all this shooting. By the way, I shoot low, to wound, use bean bag rounds when available, and I am a wonderful shot. |
