Don't be fooled by this past weeks countless attacks on Win2000 by some of its biggest arch enemies, SUNW, CORL, and anything related to Linux.

If you were these guys, what would you tell the press? That W2K is a superb product and that it's going to give us good ole wooping? Let's remember that the guys running those companies hate MSFT with a passion. No matter how good they know W2K is, they'd never admit it.

MSFT will win out in the end and I think it will happen sooner rather than later. These Gartner guys say adoption of W2K won't happen for awhile but I think we will all be surprised at how fast corporate america embraces W2K.

The biggest problem MSFT faces is the DOJ, not SUNW, not CORL, not ORCL, not anyone. In time the DOJ will blow over. But given the lid it has put on MSFT stock price, we MSFT shareholders are being short changed.

Stocks like NOK, SUNW, ORCL, CSCO, have doubles in price if not more in the last year while MSFT has done almost zippo. MSFT made a high of $95 last April, in another 2 months if MSFT is still at $95, it will have done absolutely nothing over a 12 month period while other tech stocks have left MSFT in the dust.

As MSFT shareholders, we should have the right to file a class action suit against the DOJ and the 19 States. MSFT is growing just as fast if not faster than all of those companies I mentioned above and hands down has the greatest profitability but yet Wall Street will not embrace the stock until the DOJ uncertainty clears up.

Let's for a moment forget that we are all MSFT shareholders and imagine that the stock market did not exist. If MSFT ever said to DOJ you can shove it where the sun don't shine and stops making Windows all together, could you imagine how many companies would go out of business?? All of the boxmakers would be dead in an instant, all of the chipmakers, half the software industry and list goes on and on and on. This country would fall into a recession if not depression and in all likelihood it would not recover in our lifetime.

These elected officials that we have placed in Washington to shape the world we live in better wake up and smell the coffee. MSFT puts food on the table of half the people in this world.

I sure as hell hope MSFT doesn't open up the source code. Although I have watched it's stock price languish over the past year, I know this stock is capable of playing catch up in a hurry. And if this market should take a turn for the worst, I know MSFT will hold up better than those companies with nose bleed P/Es.
