Case Update
The court has issued an order (1) consolidating all related actions, (2) appointing the Elgindy group as representative plaintiffs for the class and (3) appointing Weiss & Yourman as lead counsel for the putative class.
A consolidated amended complaint was filed on March 15, 1999 on behalf of the entire class. Defendants filed a motion to dismiss the complaint, which was denied by the court on July 12, 1999. Defendants filed a motion for reconsideration, which the court denied on August 13, 1999.
On November 15, 1999, the court granted plaintiffs' motion for class certification status, declaring that this case could proceed as a class action.
