Ref < Willamette's Floating Point Performance >

If SIMD or WNI are needed to get Willamette to take the High Ground for Floating Point , the Software Compiler becomes critical. Presently VTune does perform the Vectorisation for SIMD, but requires extra explicit statements. This can be a slow process, since it will require significant recoding of legacy software.

IDF had sessions devoted to new VTune and enhancements for Willamette. However there has been little information on what was discussed at the IDF. Do you have any information on what was discussed at IDF , or any other info on automatic vectorisation ?
