Niku not mentioned much in the weekend previews, except in Red Herring where it is one of their three picks of the week, although it is listed last and is rated "Hot" whereas the other two are rated "Red Hot"). Barely gets half a sentence in CNNFN's roundup. I'm assuming it won't be CBS MarketWatch's IPO Pick of the Week (they haven't published their pick for next week yet as of now). Looks like Niku will be going out on the same _day_ as Avenue A and the big Intersil IPO, which may provide excellent cover. Also encouraging is the number of press releases Miku has put out recently about new orders, including what looked like a big order from Asian IT consultancy Tata. I think I'm interested in Niku if it is available under $20 a share when it starts trading on the open market. If it's more than that I'll probably wait and try and see if I get it for less in the days/weeks following. If I don't buy it at all, I'll simply look for another IPI that's a better deal later. We're trying to buy growth potential at a discount here, not trying to own particular stocks. Don't need to own any of these stocks to be happy.

These are _rough_ ideas and I may change my mind so do your own research and set your own limits, etc etc. A lot of recent Internet software IPOs have opened high and then slowly dropped down.

Let's see how much coverage Miku gets during the week and the night before, and if the underwriters increase the range on the offering (which can be a sign of high demand for it). Coverage is bad. Overlooked is good.
