Sector, regarding Zuma, here are a couple quotes related to some initial basic research into the current market for 'supercomputers'. Your point that Zuma's products are a totally new class combining switch/router & supercomputer power is very important. "Long considered stale, the market for supercomputers has turned around..." "One reason for the growth is that companies are starting to use supercomputers..." "It's something that was almost unheard of five years ago." "... points to Charles Schwab as one of several customers with a need for supercomputing power." "The market is growing, and a lot of it is driven by the influence of the Internet" "Companies need that kind of power when they're extracting particular types of information from data, or when there's a driving need for real-time information." In the 'wired world' it sounds as if brokers, financial institutions, ect... could potentially be customers for this new class of supercomputer switch/router. The integration of the two seems like a timely idea. Did anybody write down the name of the operating system that is used along w/Linux (which is very prevlant in cluster computing), I could use that info. Here's a list of the Top 500 supercomputer sites w/links. Many of these are massively parallel, some run Linux, but I don't believe any contain a switch/router architecture. top500.org Regis Regis
