Paul,

Intel reported exactly what they had - just as you said - a 1.5 GHz CPU with some internals running at 3 GHz.

Confusion?

Maybe.

Confusion by people - SCUMBRIA NOTABLY - who REFUSED to accept that it was technologically possible.

I've got an idea. Maybe we should time every piece of logic in the chip separately and say that each one is operating in it's own clock domain. We could say that there are 10,000 clock domains ranging from 750 MHz up to 10 GHz.
