Lola, that was under the (really) old rules, with a $250,000 lifetime exemption. For some years it has been that you simply include 75% of your capital gains as income, so it is subject to the same rules as your employment and other income.

re. incorporating, this is a complicated area, and one that shouldn't be considered with serious consultation with a tax accountant (which I'm not - not trying to drum up business <g>)
