The Prophet,

Given that:

NEC is merging it's DRAM operations with Hitachi on April 1, 2000, and NEC is planning to leverage its position in Rambus DRAM.

Could/Shouldn't NEC put a lot of pressure on Hitachi into a quick settlement with Rambus, so NEC/Hitachi can get on with the profitable sales of the higher priced RDRAM? Samsung, NEC, and Toshiba have a lead over Micron on RDRAM production (Appleton still making his RDRAM samples). This looks like an opportunity for NEC/Hitachi and they might want to be in good relations with Rambus before the two merge their DRAM operations.

What do you think?
