Hi CM. I agree. In this "observation," (?) it isn't "me" I'm worried about. I I I can become un-depressed ~ I have the skills and environs and wealth and am draining depression-enforcing steroids from my soup. I have the skills, which are a huge head start. I have also the awareness that depression is a chemical bio-health assault, now ~ which I didn't, when it started. I know what to recognize, and what not to allow my mind to do. What not to "believe." Defensive steps. Offensive steps.

The wave of effects I elected to comment on is in the "populace." It's visible even if one is ignoring it. (I know you didn't say it isn't there.) It's certainly true one can't succumb to it. I don't. I won't.
I can avoid it. Inside and out. I can also combat it.

I understand too, how lucky I am. Many others are not. Lucky. Not even close.

It is definitely not me I am worried about. Seeing. Maybe it is empathy, or maybe it is fear, that sees the vacancy in modern life affecting SO many people. It's there.

Sure, what we see is a reflection of who we are. In certain ways. In others, it is not.

It seems just as certain that the waves of pain coming from people are "important."

They're not my problem.
