Columbia River Resources Inc. -- Ayaco Project reports
Phase I Results

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2000-- Columbia River Resources Inc. (OTCBB:CRVV - news) is
pleased to announce results from the recently completed Phase I exploration at its Ayaco Project (Tanoso Licence) located on
the northeasterly extension of the Yamfo Gold Belt in Ghana, West Africa.

Soil sampling defined three anomalous gold-in-soil zones. The largest trends northeast-southwest, is 2.8 kilometers long and
up to 400 metres wide and is coincident with the Yamfo Gold trend. Gold-in-soil values within this zone reach a maximum
value of 1,455 ppb Au.

Ground magnetic surveying identified a distinctive northeast-southwest trending magnetic high that is coincident with
anomalous gold-in-soil results. The magnetic survey also delineated the presence of several northeast-southwest trending
shears, cut by east-west and northwest-southeast trending faults. Some of the highest gold values from the soil sampling
program occurred at the junction of these structures.

Twenty-one pits were excavated in the area of anomalous gold-in-soil results to test the depth continuity of the soil results.
One metre wide pits were excavated to an average depth of 2.64 metres, terminating in saprolite. Channel sampling returned
as high as 8,972 ppb Au and grab samples taken of quartz veins returned up to 7,159 ppb Au. Selected pit sample results, with
repeat analysis averaged, are included below.

Four trenches, totalling 402 metres in length were excavated to a depth of 3.00. Trenches were continuously channel sampled
horizontally at 2 metre intervals, and 1 metre vertical samples were collected at 10 metre spacings. Sampling returned up to of
1,556 ppb Au from horizontal samples, 1,354 ppb Au from vertical samples and 6,171 ppb Au from grab samples of quartz
veins. Selected trench sample results, with repeat analysis averaged, are included below.

the Yamfo Gold Belt. A Phase Two Exploration Program of sampling, trenching, geological mapping, IP Surveying and RC
drilling is scheduled to begin shortly.
