To retain REIT status the pay out must be a certain % of earnings, I think something like 90% or more. With some fancy book keeping I'll bet the shits at MT could come up with a loss for the year, ego, no dividend.

I am thinking that since MT is paying down debt, they could use any earnings to pay off principal and therefore have no earnings.

Since MT Mgt announced late last year that they might have to lower the dividend by at least 1/2 and now they have eliminated it, I wonder when the law suits will start.
