Les, the ultimate source of energy is still the sun, which yield on a sunny day 1 KW/sq mm, since I doubt the yield from algae is better than 5% overall, why not use solar cells that have a yield of 10 to 15% (and if you go to expensive GaAs cells, as much as twice). It surely would be cheaper than carrying a tub of algae on top of your car, converting sun energy to hydrogen and then converting hydrogen through combustion to horse power. I think that someone has too many government grants and the monitors forgot to look at the basics. We already have one organic system that convert sun energy to combustion fuels, it is corn and the resulting methanol. Zeev
