We aren't talking NT here, we are talking Linux, W2k, Monterey, SCOC, Unisys, NEC, HP, IBM, Intel servers All
Err...
How is it that Linux is going to be more cost-effective or have a lower TCO than Solaris if Solaris is free?
W2K = NT5.0 The name changes, but it doesn't change the issue.
SCOC = SCO? If so, get serious!
The rest is a mixture of chips and box makers, some of whom have their own RISC platforms.
You are making what seems to be a specific, if confusing, claim about cost-effectiveness and TCO with respect to Solaris and Itanium. Could you answer the question instead of diverting to a different point? |
