You have presented your opinion.<< so, where are your "facts?" i was hoping to see something other than your opinion w/ indignation for opinion dripping down your post ;-) is steve forbes one of those rich kids gone bad? bill gates? what about donald trump? compare the earnings of kids that go to the best private schools with those who attended the worst public schools and what facts do you get? then compare the income of both sets of parents. what facts do you get? do some wealthy kids turn out to be irresponsible bums? yup. do some kids who grew up in abject poverty become wealthy? yup. i know both types. does this mean that there is NO correlation between parental wealth, education and societal connections and the fiscal success of their choldren? are you REALLY arguing no? hello?!?!? nobody said genetics. i said advantage. imagine this. take two kids born on the same day to different families. one is born to carl lewis. another is born to a computer programmer with who never pursued athletics (assume exact same genetics the only difference is the life experience of the parent). you know nothing except what was stated above... when they run the 100 yard dash at age 20, who are you going to bet on? who would you hire as a programmer? why? be honest. ps - you know one child of poverty who grew up to be a millionaire. you still haven't answered how many millionaires you know who didn't grow up in poverty. that is a "fact" from your experience right? why withold it? is the reason b/c the answer doesn't support your argument? using outliers to prove a mean can move to the outlier level is dishonest statistics. that is a fact.
