<<imagine this. take two kids born on the same day to different families. one is born to carl lewis. another is born to a computer programmer with who never pursued athletics (assume exact same genetics the only difference is the life experience of the parent).

you know nothing except what was stated above...

when they run the 100 yard dash at age 20, who are you going to bet on? who would you hire as a programmer?
why? >>

This one is easy to answer, Skeeter, becuase you make the classic and common heads/tails error here. If I flip a coin six times and each time it comes up tails, you would assume incorrectly that the odds favor a seventh tail. You would be wrong. Chances remain even 50/50. So there is no way to know whether the best programmer or the best sprinter would be the offspring of Carl Lewis.

Was Carl Lewis' father a great cobol programmer?
