Michael-- A great many people hated Nixon. He wasn't a very nice guy, and his inferiority complex and raging paranoia didn't do much for his personality. Watergate went on for two years: you oversimplify by a very great deal when you say that the Post "forced him to resign". Nonsense. It was the Congressional hearings, broadcast daily, that did him in. Probably the tapes did the most damage, but it was just one revelation after another, nearly all of 'em offered up by his own staff. And well do I remember his whiny, self-serving farewell speech. And hey, did HE ever admit he'd done wrong? Janice
