I hadnt heard that about Dunleavy. That takes away a serious long distance threat, and he has been playing so well lately. But the way, Carrawell, James, and Battier have been shooting 3s, they are still in good shape out there.
I really think Duke will have to play a bulkier lineup, if they get deep into the tournament. Particularly, if they run into teams like Cincinnati, Michigan St., or Stanford. Those teams are solid rebounding teams. Duke has a couple of good young big men, who have been seeing a little more playing time of late. They could prove to be very valuable down the stretch run. I would guess, that Coach K, has been playing a more up and down pace this season, because, if they have a weakness, it would be inside. But Boozer has been coming on, lately too, and Battier is a good rebounder, also.
I really think it will be someone connected to Dean, in some form or fashion, who follows Guthridge. I still think Roy Williams will be the next coach of UNC. I, have also heard the names of George Karl, and Larry Brown, mentioned. But I dont see that. I think Roy Williams is the #1 candidate. If he doesnt take it, then I see guys such as Eddie Fogler, Buzz Peterson, or maybe even Matt Doherty, possibly, being the next in line. I just think the program needs a shot of young blood. I, am pretty disgusted with the events going on in Chapel Hill right now. Especially, now that about every record, or streak, that Dean built, appears to be collapsing in one season. I have pretty much started waving, the "Wait til next year" banner, already. Hope they prove me wrong. |
