Compaq has SpeedStep configurable notebooks on their website. compaq.com. I like the Sonys too but mainly the small ones...Compaq gives better value on the larger size ones... Interesting they have found a way not to send copies of the software with the notebook...not even Win98. They send a restore disk and I think when you run it it decompresses a stored copy already on your HD. Or so it seems. Jim
