Sprint PCS, (Personal Communication Services) the country's first and largest all-digital CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) wireless service, launches operations in the Madison area as part of a nationwide network with service in more than 4,000 cities and communities.

Grand opening celebrations will be held on Saturday, February 19 at new Sprint PCS Centers located at East Prairie Commons, 4261 Lien Rd., and a kiosk in the West Towne Mall, 66 West Towne Way. As part of the grand opening, Sprint PCS will offer a $50 rebate off any new phone with an activation plan of $29.99 (some restrictions apply). Guests are welcome to stop by the Sprint PCS Centers and make a free call to experience Sprint PCS quality for themselves. The East Prairie Commons store will feature a live radio broadcast, as well as giveaways and prizes. Sprint PCS service is also available through Madison area retail outlets, including The Sprint Store at Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City, TSR Wireless, K-mart, Office Depot, Office Max, Ritz Camera, as well as local Madison-based distributors.
