Persistence Software and TIBCO Software Offer Comprehensive E-Commerce Platform for Mission Critical B2B
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2000--
PowerTier with TIB/ActiveEnterprise provides complete e-business technology infrastructure for enterprise customers
Persistence Software (Nasdaq: PRSW), The Engine for E-Commerce(tm), today announced it has entered into a licensing agreement with TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX) to resell TIBCO's real-time e-business infrastructure platform, TIB(R)/ActiveEnterprise(R), with its PowerTier(tm) application server. PowerTier has the unique ability to cache and synchronize data across multiple servers while TIB/ActiveEnterprise enables real-time business process integration. The proven combination of PowerTier and TIB/ActiveEnterprise has already been validated in a mission-critical environment at the world's largest agency brokerage firm, Instinet Fixed Income, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reuters Group PLC. Persistence will market and support the combined products, further proving itself as the high-end provider of complete technology infrastructures for customers' modern B2B e-commerce applications. "B2B e-commerce will soon represent the largest segment of e-commerce," said Vivek Ranadiv, chairman and CEO of TIBCO Software. "The combination of TIBCO's world-class infrastructure software and Persistence's patented technology provides customers with a comprehensive B2B e-commerce solution." TIB/ActiveEnterprise is a real-time e-business infrastructure platform for scalable, high availability services across heterogeneous applications and platforms. Disparate enterprise and e-business applications tied together by TIB/ActiveEnterprise exchange data transparently -- over local networks, throughout the enterprise, and across the Internet. Coupled with TIB/ActiveEnterprise software, PowerTier e-commerce servers form a scalable, fault-tolerant network of processing servers. The complimentary technology will enhance e-commerce business processes and applications with real-time delivery and synchronized messaging between servers. "Customers are no longer looking for point solutions. Instead, they want a complete solution from one vendor," commented Chris Keene, chief executive officer, Persistence Software. "With the addition of TIB/ActiveEnterprise software, PowerTier networks are now enhanced with e-business infrastructure, which is a tremendous advantage for customers."
