It's true. Lagged is an understatement. The middle gets relatively poorer as the coasts grow richer. I doubt anywhere in MI is even in the top ten. Bloomfield Hills isn't even a contender. Here's an indicator of wealth:

The you should have confined your remark to MI. I'm certain you are wrong. That small enclave in CA is richer.
