I understand your original statement. It was hyperbole.

I said the Worth article was an indicator of wealth. I also stated that an enclave in CA was designated as the wealthiest in the US.

As for Oakland County, I believe that you are wrong about it ranking #3 in per capita income.

Fairfield County, CT was the richest for decades until recently when I believe the counties in VA and MD rose to the top, due to "public servants" and the growth of the Federal gov. I'm pretty sure that others rank above Oakland, enough to place it well out of #3.

For instance, Oakland had a per capita income of $21,145 in the 1990 census. I cannot find the 1990 figures for Fairfield, but it now stands at over $45,000 and I doubt that it doubled in eight years.
