Nsi Communications Announces $1.6 Million In New Orders

MONTREAL, CANADA--NSI Communications Inc. ("NSI") announced today that it has received orders totaling over $1.6 million.

NSI will supply a 10 station VSATPlus II network to provide voice and data communications among installations in the Changqing oil and gas field in Shaanxi province, China. The flexibility of the VSATPlus II terminal, allows the system to provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) service and high quality voice communications on a single platform. The customer plans to expand this network to 40 stations in the near future.

A South American telecom service provider has ordered equipment for a 25 station VSATPlus II network. This network will be used to provide data and telephone communication facilities to a
multinational food and beverage corporation across South America.

A major European telecom company has ordered a three station expansion for a network destined to provides modern telecom services in a number of Eastern European countries.

All of the orders are scheduled to be supplied during the first and second quarter of this year.

David Ben-David, NSI's President, commented, "In the second half of 1999, we set out to increase our international sales effort. The orders announced today, are the first tangible sign of our success with this approach and we are close to signing additional business shortly. But more than that, each of the three orders has special significance for us. The Changqing network is the first time our system is being used in a SCADA application and allows us to target a new wireless communication segment. The order received from our South American partner will be used to create their fifth major network to meet the telecommunication requirements of a variety of prominent multi national corporations
in the region. This success demonstrates the reliability and applicability of our systems in the South American market. The last order is an expansion to a network which has not even been
implemented by the customer yet and is further proof that growing telecommunication demands in many parts of the world are best met by our wireless satellite solutions."

NSI is a leading international provider of full-meshed VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminals) networks allowing for the satellite-based transmission of telephone, data and video. VSAT
networks provide organizations, which have geographically dispersed locations, with efficient and secure communication facilities in areas of the world where conventional
telecommunication infrastructures are lacking. NSI's VSATPlus II TDMA-DAMA technology is particularly well suited for complex private networks, telephone trunking applications and multi-line rural telephony. NSI also provides turn-key satellite communication systems solutions, ranging from single earth stations to complete national and international telecommunication networks.

NSI currently has 44,180,507 common shares outstanding, which are quoted for trading on the Canadian Dealing Network under the symbol "NSII".
