Carolyn,

why do people end their short messages "eom"?

People end short messages with "eom" so if you were reviewing the posts from the "review" page, like when you click on a thread title, you can easily see that you have read the whole message, without having to click on it to see if there is more to read.

I have seen people end a long message with "eom" also, which negates the purpose.
