To Captain,

I don't believe the fact that the first quarter has been historically blase is particularly relevant. I believe the issue is whether or not investors think that cpq can beat this year's first quarter expectations.

If it is believed that cpq can and will beat estimates then the stock is quite capable of having a pre-earnings run-up. I know you don't agree. Your position is that cpq will stay in the dumps in perpetuity and it will never again see the light of day. The real problem is, these days few investors want to hang around for extended periods of time (2 or 3 more quarters) to see if cpq can turn it around. Where we really disagree is, you don't believe cpq can turn it around and I do. Every comment you make is accurate if cpq fails in its turnaround efforts. Similarly, every comment you make is wrong if cpq does complete a successful turnaround. Neither you nor I can tell at this point in time whether cpq will succeed or not. Until earnings results are posted your negative sentiments are mere sour grapes and my positive outlook is just so much blue sky. Time alone will tell. :o)
