Captain's log, Star Date 2216.5

My third year stranded on this hostile class V alien planet, I have for the first time encountered signs of life on the Vancouver. Inadvertantly leaving my sensors on a ZPA setting, my triquarter readings temporarily went off the scale.

There is only one logical possibility that could explain such an anomaly--the presence of dilithium crystals. But I fear my discovery has come too late--there seems to be no sign that other Zappa investors survived the crash.
