the DSP category of chips perform other funtions than what RF components do; they are complimentary to each other---you can't have one without the other. In other words, its not a zero sum game.

Clearly, this development by TI is hugely bullish for RFMD; indeed for all component makers for wireless devices. Liken it to the advent of Windows 2000. If everything TI says is true re: their new generation of DSPs, it means new and better generations of cell phones and other wireless devices( read: renewed production cycles )..all of which need to be powered by RFMD.
