Hi Bill, Message 12935819 With Slick Willie in the White House [with his pockets full of "soft Money" - the window for China to make a move gets closer (if Bush or Mc Cain are perceived as winners over Gore)].As a side note I think Gore has a pocket full of soft money from China also.JMHO This is one of those way out in left field deals that can take the semi equipment companies book to bill way south of 1 to 1. It would also be much more traumatic in the accounts receivable dept. I'm not one for being an alarmist,but this is a real bubble buster possibility. Full disclosure : I didn't see Iraq's hostile invasion of Kuwait and it cost me dearly.I have learned not to be surprised when outspoken enemies do what there rhetoric threatens. I believe the current commander in chief ,is as weak in this category, as he is in his own bedroom.The window for China to make a move with weak leadership in the U.S. is getting shorter with every success of Mc Cain or Bush for that matter. The Hsinschu <sp> semiconductor complex is major.The embargo/rocket attack/invasion would make an earthquake - like Taiwan experienced - look like kids stuff.Look at the aernings impact that had!!! Can you imagine the smile on Greenspans face as he dropped rates and provided liquidity to prevent a market meltdown as the wealth effect literally disappeared. Talk about ducking a bullet - it WOULD be the best of both worlds. If you liked the Asian contagion you'd love the Taiwan embargo. Bob
