Doug, it is actually 5'8" and 160 lbs, and zeolite, also known as "diatomeceous earths" is a mineral (both natural and synthetic) also known as a "molecular sieve", since it is essentially composed of cavities interconnected by channels, and the cavities (particularly the artificial zeolites or molecular sieves) have well determined diameter (range of 5 to as much as 40 angstroms) which capture gas selectively. Used a lot in the petrochemical industry to separate gases ( for instance, you can separate oxygen from nitrogen in air with the appropriate process), clean hydrogen etc. Also used as a substrate for catalysts. Used a lot in industrial systems for drying air.

If you want to learn more, "Advances in Chemistry Series", volume 101 and 102 edited by Robert Gould are dedicated to the subject.
