Tell me what I'm missing, as I'm becoming drunken by this CMGI buyout idea. Here's what I have:

1) Details of the financial/ownership of Softnet Zones, the new JV between SOFN, CMGI, and CPQ, have been DELAYED, per the CC. WHY?? Brilliant, SOFN's CEO, declined to give details during the CC.

2) SOFN is offering StarMedia Broadband w/ STRM in Latin America. CMGI also recently announced a free ISP offering w/ STRM & 1stUp. Details have not been released. In FACT: dailynews.yahoo.com "He declined in an interview to provide financial details, other than to say StarMedia would be a minority shareholder in the independently managed GRATIS1 and was investing little cash."

3) Of course there is the PCCLF relation... PCCLF owns 19% of SOFN... and CMGI owns about 5% of PCCLF.

4) Logical fit for CMGI's NaviNet, as DW himself posted that wireless would be the winning solution further into the future.

5) Guess who is a client of CMGI's newest acquisition, ClickHear, Inc.?? StarMedia Broadband!

6) Nobody answers my questions at SOFN. In fact, I have emailed IR, Brilliant, and public relations! I've also left a message w/ IR! Maybe, just maybe because they realize any answer/lack of an answer would give it away?? Why? Because I asked them why they haven't released details of the SoftNet Zones arrangement, and if it was because there is truth to rumors of a CMGI purchase. I also asked them other issues which they could easily answer, but a non-amswer to the financial arrangement would lead me to the truth.

7) ALTA is being used as the portal for SoftNet Zones, yet SOFN already has their OWN portal, ISP Channel!

8) In a recent interview, when Brilliant was asked whether there was truth to rumors that SOFN will soon divest themselves of ISAP Channel (a portal AND ISP a la AOL), Brilliant first said he couldn't comment about rumors/speculation, then added, "Maybe that's a topic for another interview at a later time." When pushed, he says, "There's nothing I can possibly say about that." Also, he clearly states his belief that "wireless access to the Internet is the next big thing."... in line w/ DW's belief, and shows that they are indeed after this big time. For those unfamiliar, this is also PCCLF's longterm goal, and they invested in SOFN because SOFN's solution is a flexible solution which will easily transform into wireless access later on.

Is it just me, or am I missing something?? Can anyone validate the character of that individual on the CMGI board earlier saying he heard it would happen?? Any thoughts appreciated.
