Hey, I don't mind hugs. We've all had some excellent investment opportunities over the past few years. i2 was has just been one of those. I was trying to reflect back to the days when I did my first study of i2 back in 1998. Of course, supply chain management and i2 were mentioned in the original, vintage manual. That, of course, sparked my initial interest and off I went looking at Manugistics and i2. It appeared i2 was certainly the leader so I bought some shares. No deep issue here - just bought shares to couple with my CRM shares of Siebel. Then I read Barron's one weekend in October/November of 1998 when I was in NYC near the Garden (my wife's Aunt's brownstone) when they had a great article with 5 small-cap 'experts'. I love small-caps and a small-cap in a gorilla game... At least three of the five 'experts' drooled over i2 and were very excited about the telegraphed move to extending the supply chain to Internet based business to business. It's nice to see positive drooling in Barron's. The Asian meltdown was just finishing and I jumped in to a larger position (as well as added many others with the sale prices) and called my father-in-law and his brother in California. The beauty of some small-caps is that you can establish a healthy share position for very little money. I've spent the better part of my time since November of 1998 trying to convince my wife's Uncle and father not to sell their shares of i2. These are two retired men who get a kick out of combing the California beach looking for quarters with their electronic treasure hunters until the police kick them off the beach. They owe me hugs as well.... BB
