Signal Technology Arizona Operation Receives ISO 9001 Registration; Recognition for Quality Management System

DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2000--Signal Technology Corporation (AMEX: STZ) today announced that the Arizona Operation facility in Chandler, Arizona has received ISO 9001 registration. The registration is in compliance to ANSI/ISO/ASQC Q9001: 1994. The facility's Quality Management System was assessed and registered by AOQC Moody International, Inc.

Signal's Arizona Operation designs and manufactures high-quality, state-of-the-art microwave and power management products for defense, space and commercial wireless applications. This is the second Signal Technology facility to receive ISO 9001 registration. The ISO 9000 series of International Standards for quality management and quality assurance has been adopted in over 200 countries and is being implemented by thousands of manufacturing and service organizations in both public and private sectors.

Gene L. Joles, president of the Arizona Operation stated, "Arizona Operation employees place a high priority on the quality of our products and services, a practice that we will not compromise for any reason. In this increasingly competitive global market, our ISO registration will strengthen our position as more customers and countries adopt ISO 9000 standards."

George Lombard, Signal Technology's chairman and chief executive officer added, "Every employee at Signal Technology is committed to delivering products that are defect and error free, meet or exceed contractual specific requirements, and earn the satisfaction of all of our customers. To achieve our goal, we have adopted a formal set of systems and procedures that we consider to be even more rigorous than current ISO international standards."
