Charley,

I guess I was talking about his style also. I indicated on the McCain thread that a speech I heard yesterday reminded me of a preacher.

I might have a different mindset of a preacher than you do. IMO, preachers move you to believe in the intangible, because the tangible is unavailable to them.

I think Bush has made one mistake that is much larger than all the others combined. He has shifted his persona when that is diametric to what the voters want. Bush should have stayed his original course after NH, and if he had he might have won yesterday. The voters have had 7 years of a chameleon and they want something different.

McCain has stood by the same principles from the start. Again, IMO these principles themselves are not what this race is about. Its about the man, and Bush, on some level, has emulated Clinton.

Buyer remorse is going to set in fast. With Nancy Reagan on his side expect more desertion from the Bush camp.

Gore will be run out, but not by Bush. I really don't know if Bush can beat him.

Even the diehard supporters of Bush must acknowledge than he cannot convey his message well. What is his message again? I seem to have missed it, and I am not being flippant.
