I posted this one another thread as well. Not sure if we have any switch gurus on here yet for some thoughts but I'd like to here if these guys are onto something.

Tuesday February 22, 9:09 am Eastern Time Company Press Release Light Management Group Inc. Files for Patent BURLINGTON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2000-- (OTC BB:LMGR)
Light Management Group, Inc. (OTC BB:LMGR) is pleased to announce that it has filed for a United States patent for its acousto-optical switch for fiber optic lines. This invention, developed by LMGR Chief Engineer Gennadii Ivtsenkov, Ph.D., can have significant applications in telecommunications, data transmission, and internet technology.
This invention can form the basis of an optimal fiber-optical line communication network. The optical lines employing LMGR's proprietary commutator can carry 10 Gigabytes of information per second -- in comparison with 5 Kbytes over phone lines, i.e., two million times as quickly. LMGR's Fiber-Optical Line Commutator does not have any mechanical parts and uses the electronically and computer controlled acousto-optical deflector set, which can randomly connect the channels from the array to the single fiber-optical line, resulting in extremely fast switching times - of not more than a few microseconds. The commutator can be inverted randomly connecting any single line from the input array with the single output line.
``Until now,' notes LMGR CEO Barrington Simon, ``the few optical switching devices that have existed before could switch single input with two outputs only, or they all had mechanical rotating parts, worked very slowly, and were not suitable for optical networks. We believe that LMGR's Fiber-Optical Line Commutator is a most significant advance. LMGR will continue to develop this technology in its laser systems, and the Company will also pursue strategic partnerships, license agreements, and acquisitions to optimize, integrate and bring the applications of this technology to the mainstream marketplace.'
LMGR is a Nevada corporation specializing in the development of new applications of optical and light technologies. LMGR's breakthrough technology, which was originally developed in the former Soviet Union and brought to North America through the Company's Laser Show Systems (Canada) Ltd. subsidiary, employs sound waves to focus and direct lasers.
