Mort: Latest data I have readily on hand shows about 40% institutional ownership of COMS as of 12/31/99. That's about 140 million shares, and we've now turned over close to 200 million since 1/31. Could be that a lot of those fund holdings had a cost basis in the 40's and 50's from the last few years, and the funds are happy to take their 50-60% gains and run. Just guessing, but there has to be some logic to the selling. While I presently intend to sit on my darned hands to keep them off the "sell" button at least until IPO day before lightening up, that's going to become harder as the old irrational exuberance grabs the individual investor market.
