USA Talkscom Says SEC Has Ended Inquiry, No Action to Be Taken

Washington, Feb. 23 (Bloomberg) -- USA Talks.com Inc said it's been told the Securities and Exchange Commission has ended an investigation of the company without recommending any enforcement action.

USA Talks.com, which sells unlimited long-distance telephone service over the Internet, last year had disclosed it was the subject of a securities fraud investigation involving possible false statements about its business operations. The company today said its law firm received a letter from the SEC saying the probe is over.

''We are delighted,'' Stephen Storey, USA Talks.com's president, said in a prepared statement.

The SEC had ordered a two-week suspension in trading of USA Talks.com shares in January 1999, citing questions about the accuracy of public information about the company.

USA Talks.com's shares, which traded for as much as a split- adjusted 15 31/32 in early 1999, fell 1/16 yesterday to 7/16.
