Actually, I thought that the author liked Ellison (or at least admired him). My impression is that the title came from a joke that people at Oracle told. I think that if the CEO of a company is completely unethical, it does matter. People who seem to know claim that the IFMX troubles were due in large part to the CEO at the time, and I can well believe it. But I know people that know Ellison, and I've never heard anyone say anything really bad about him. He's often outrageous and flamboyant, but most of the people that I know that worked at Oracle in the early years thought that quite a bit of that was an act because it was what he felt the company needed. I've listened to him talk quite a few times, and while I think that he occasionally overstates his case, I've never heard him say anything that turned out to be completely off the mark. And he is frequently on the nose about things, many times well before it's commonly understood.
