The whole position is insane to begin with! You say "let's give women who have abortions and the doctors who perform them a break if the child was a product of rape". Okay, fine. Woman walks into clinic, asks to see doctor. Doctor asks "How was the child conceived?" Woman says "I was raped". Doctor performs abortion. So what is the prosecutor supposed to do now, try to prove BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that the doctor KNEW the child was not the product of a rape? And try to prove that the woman was lying when she said it was? What is the prosecutor supposed to do, try and find a guy who will stand up in court and say "I impregnated that woman, and it was not a rape!". Get real. Either abortion is punishable under ALL circumstances, or under none. Any other resolution is hypocrisy.
