Charles and Thread- ADC Telecom has made two remarkable purchases. They bought Saville Systems for market value and now PairGain for market value. Unbelievable moves that still leave me wondering how they did it.

Also today, Alcatel's purchase of Newbridge Networks, and the announcement of AT&T's local cable telephony plans. It's clear access (All three technologies, LMDS, xDSL, and HFC) is a hot sector.

And I can't figure this out(but I'm not complaining), little old engineering/construction company IFCI moving from $8/share to $30/share in very little time. Competitors DY and WATR seems to be making a similar move, almost in sympathy and not from any particular fundamental news. And these are the boring players in the last mile infrastructure game.

It's proving to be a very exciting sector. -MikeM(From Florida)
