EDIG is looking at acquiring software manufacturers/designers:

In the ViaVid internet interview today ( viavid.com ) Robert Putnam clarified that EDIG believes the acquisition of a software company would best position EDIG for future growth.

Putnam also mentioned that the next big market that EDIG is looking at is voice-to-text and text-to-voice. He specifically mentioned that EDIG likes what it is seeing from Lernout & Hauspie (I may be wrong on this. I couldn't hear him well and there was no rewind button and I was not about to listen to the entire long interview all over again. After you listen to the interview, feel free to post a correction if I am wrong.)

Putman helped to differenciate OBJX from EDIG saying that OBJX is a company that offers a MP3 and MWA platform while EDIG offers a solution for all major formats.

The question of Mobile Linux vs. MicroOS was not discussed during the interview. ( Message 12930088 ) However, Putnam did state that once cell phones start to use removeable flash memory EDIG could possibly get into that market.
