How much will Embedded Java impact WIND? Isn't it just a small applet or is this a variant of the Java environment related to Chorus? news.excite.com A more probing question is why can't WIND post such news stories on ZD? I think investors are looking more and more to the embedded story. With WIND being the leader (albeit kind of hidden), the pipsqeak startups, such as Transmeta and Insignia and this Taiwan thing, seem to get the press. My fear is not that WIND is by far the best in what it does, but rather that a micro "e" company will startup and gain a huge market cap with an IPO (a la the Akamai story), and buy out WIND (like Akamai did with Intervu). It's not bad, but the investors who win would be riding the other company's wave. Sincerely, Ben PS Long on Wind; shooting for 150.
