when i recently spoke with a pacbell rep about dsl in my area she said there is an "auxillary" service available for residents beyond the 3 mile radius... she called it "long reach". she said it is 145k/145k. but when i spoke with a pacbell engineer, i was told that even 'long reach' wasn't available in our neck of the woods.

and so i suffer.
