Jim:

If Intel is flooding the market it must be at 550MHz. Certainly not much visible above 550MHz...somebody told me demand for the PWeeIII 800 is 100% greater than Intel is able to supply. To date Intel has supplied half a dozen PweeIII 800's to retail...Not bad for 4 months of production at 100% capacity!

AMD's price cuts are going to pull the carpet out from under Intel at the 800 MHz level. Demand for PWeeIII's will probably drop to 66% of available supply at 800 MHz...i.e. they might only be able to sell 4 PWeeIII 800's in March!

Seriously though, the Athy price cuts should result in a minimum of 1.5 million Athys in Q1, probably 2 million...without any significant erosion in Athy ASP owing to the SMOOTH intro of premium priced 850's at retail...An Athy ASP of $225 and 2 million shipments in Q1 will blow away, once again this quarter, street estimates of $0.39! An outside chance of $1.00 eps in Q1!
