jaytee,

Not everyone is as enthusiastic about Web Street as Tech Master. He has lead a charmed life when it comes to his dealings with this brokerage firm.

In the interest of equal time for opposing view points you may want to read this post from a year ago.

I no longer have an account with WS, but it has been my experience that they are extremely slow at filling orders and order cancelations are pretty much ignored. If you call about a problem, they will blame someone else and leave you hung out to dry.

Tech Master is correct when he says that it is the market makers that fill the stock, but for some reason (and I know this from watching dozens of transactions on Level 2 quotes) Web Street's orders are the last to be filled. If you place a limit order to sell a stock at the ASK, it will not be filled unless the price rises through it. If your offer is competing to get filled with offers from other market makers, you can just about forget it.

Good Luck
