Paul, if I remember correctly Intel paid around $800 Million for the Colorado fab, which is the same amount they paid in the DEC settlement. In that one they got a large modern fab, a StrongArm license, PCI-PCI bridges, communication devices and other products, a development site, several experienced design teams and other state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Popular opinion is that DEC had Intel over a barrel but the fact is that looking back it was Intel who took DEC to the cleaners on that one.
