Application for Tom.com shares is at IPO price of around HK$ 1.8, the share is expected to shoot to HK$ 10 on first day of trading, and then the satiated crowd will sell out, along with the cherished institutions with their friendly allocations. The reason I do not participate is I do not get friendly allocations and this is definitely a transparent case of "the greater fool" game. Besides, lining up in the rain outside a bank office doesn't seem like fun as I transport past.
