Folks, this stock is holding up really well,
don't start with the puts and the shorts just yet!

Look at AMAT's activity over the last few months:
After bottoming out in the 20's with the rest of the semi sector
last summer, it ran up through the 30's and 40's November thru
January as the Street realized that Applied Materials came out
of that slump with a VERY commanding position among semi-equip
suppliers. Since February the rest of the Techs got hammered
but AMAT has held its own in the 45-52 range. Volatility yes,
but overall downward pressure, no. And unless the company's
fundamentals change, the stock's behavior shouldn't change either,
until the broader tech sector picks up again, then this stock should
do very well once again.
Maybe one could play the volatility by buying some puts and
covering quickly, but shorting could be very painful.

Very long on AMAT, and looking for very good things from this
stock in the long-term..
