Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND) today announced the release of XTNDConnect PC, the company's next generation PC-based data synchronization and management solution for Palm Computing, Windows CE and Casio Pocket Viewer devices.
Formerly known as Enterprise Harmony, XTNDConnect PC features a new, easy-to-navigate user interface and adds support for ACT! 2000. The product allows users to access, update and transfer data between desktop or laptop PCs and handheld mobile devices. It provides quick and easy synchronization of e-mail, calendars, contacts and tasks. In addition to ACT!, XTNDConnect PC supports Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Organizer, Lotus Notes, GoldMine, and NetManage Ecco Pro.
The new user interface features the following enhancements:
-- Users can access synchronization by launching the program from an embedded synchronization menu or tray icon, depending upon the application
-- Users can establish multiple profiles that enable information to be synchronized from specific combinations of devices and applications (i.e., ACT! can synchronize with a Palm device or Microsoft Outlook can synchronize with Lotus Notes)
-- Users can choose a particular profile and easily see what two items are being synchronized
